Common: 'Believer' No More

common_umvd002.jpgGuess I didn't get the memo. In an interview with HipHopDX, Common says that his new album is titled Invincible Summer (his album titles are starting to sound like romance novels or candles) and will be released this June. There was a point in time where the album was to be titled The Believer and November was the eyed month of release. But, as was the case with Badu and N*E*R*D, things like titles and dropdates aren't set in stone until you actually have the release in your possession. While Kanye West may only executive produce this time around, Common says the Neptunes will helm the bulk of the project as well as Mr. DJ who produced "Bombs Over Baghdad" for Outkast, and he even goes on to suggest that there will be a party track or two on the album. The closest thing I've heard to a party track from Common in recent years is "Go", and with most of today's Party Rap relying heavily on the sale of ringtones (which he clearly states isn't part of his approach to recording) it will interesting at the least to hear his take.
